                                  A QOUTE ABOUT CHILDREN
A new baby is like the beginning of all things-wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities.
--Eda LaShan, American psychologist and author

                                               A TOUCHING STORY
I recently did a consultancy job for UNICEF/DFID under the auspices of the Girl Child Education Project (GEP).I heard the story of a girl in one of the local government areas under my jurisdiction. She is physically challenged and could not attend school, because her parents were too poor to afford the wheelchair she needed for mobility. She would sometimes crawl a long distance (almost a kilometer)to the school, and get there long after classes had began. BUT SHE WOULD SHOW UP. Her story came to me, and after liaising with the local government chairman, her efforts yielded fruit because he bought her the much needed wheelchair. She now goes to school comfortably and is doing much better than her peers who are not challenged. My joy is that I was part of efforts to better the girl’s life.

  2. I like the quote you chose. It reminds me of John Locke's tabula rasa (blank slate). Every child has the potential to be successful learners.

I was also touched by your story. I feel we often take life for granted and often stress the small "stuff." Thank you for sharing her story.

  4. I love your quote about new babies. When you look into their eyes, it's like seeing that same hope, wonder and dreaming where anything is possible. Truly inspirational.
